Sealed Bids subject to the conditions contained herein will be received by the Mohawk Valley Water Authority (MVWA), Engineering Department, up until and no later than 11:00 A.M. local time on, Thursday, June 23, 2022, and then publicly opened and read in the Board’s conference room for the following, as described in the specifications: Tree and Brush Clearing along Mohawk Valley Water Authority Transmission Main Right-of-Ways, Town of Marcy, New York.

The scope of work includes the Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, and materials to clear and remove trees, brush, and vegetation within the limits shown and described in the Figures and per the Specifications at the following location:

  1. Transmission Main ROWs – This work involves tree, brush, and vegetation clearing along MVWA transmission main ROWs, starting from Toby Road in the Town of Marcy. This work will be bid and paid on a lump sum basis, per section cleared, ROW marker to ROW marker, as described further in these contract documents and the Bid Form. The full width of ROW, 33-ft must be cleared per the specifications and per slash disposal method to be selected by MVWA. Bidders are required to write in a lump sum price for each section, ROW marker to ROW marker, and for each slash disposal method specified.

Proposals shall be submitted only on the forms contained herein and shall include a five percent (5%) bid security in a form described and shall be received only from persons who obtain Bid Documents from the MVWA and are duly registered on the list of bidders.

The MVWA reserves the right to waive any informality and reject any and all bids. The MVWA may reject any bid if in its judgment the resources, financial standing, or experience of the bidder justifies such rejection in view of the work to be performed. The Board reserves the right to revise or amend the bidding documents prior to the date set for opening the bids.

Packages containing bids must be sealed, marked, and addressed to the Mohawk Valley Water Authority, Engineering Department, Attention: Jolie Murray, 1 Kennedy Plaza, 3rd Floor, City Hall, Utica, New York 13502. Packages containing bids that are delivered by courier (i.e., FedEx, UPS, etc.) must be delivered to the Water Authority’s Engineering Department, 3rd Floor Office.

Any inquiries regarding details in specifications must be directed in writing to Benjamin Smith, Civil Engineer, of the MVWA. No response will be given to inquiries received within five (5) business days of the bid date.
