Sealed Bids subject to the conditions contained herein will be received by the Mohawk Valley Water Authority (MVWA), Engineering Department, up until and no later than 11:00 A.M. local time on, Thursday, July 27, 2023 and then publicly opened and read in the Board’s conference room for the following, as described in the specifications: GILBERT ROAD TANK REMOVAL PROJECT.

The scope of work required consists of the removal of the entire steel tank including roof, steel supports, braces, cables, and concrete foundations along with the removal of site chain link fencing and associated foundations. Site restoration work is also.

A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 10 am, July 13, 2023, at the Project Site – Gilbert Road, New Hartford, NY. Representatives of the Owner and Engineer will be present to discuss the Project. Bidders are encouraged to attend and participate in the conference; however, attendance at this conference is not required to submit a Bid.

Bidding documents may be obtained at the MVWA Engineering Department by emailing Jolie Murray. Printed copies of the project manual are not available. Bidders must register with Jolie Murray as a plan holder, even if bidding documents are obtained from a plan room. All official notifications, addendums, etc. will be emailed to plan holders registered with Jolie Murray.

Bids shall be submitted only on the forms contained herein and shall include a five percent (5%) bid security in a form of a certified check, bank money order, or a Bid Bond and shall be received only from persons who obtain Bid Documents from the MVWA and are duly registered on the list of bidders.

The Bid is subject to MBE/WBE participation requirements and a preliminary Statement of Utilization of MBE/WBE must accompany each Bid. MBE/WBE participation requirements shall be in accordance with MVWA’s latest MBE/WBE policy.

The Bid is subject to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses (SDVOB) participation requirements and a preliminary Statement of Utilization of SDVOB must accompany each Bid. SDVOB participation requirements shall be in accordance with MVWA’s latest MWBE policy.

The MVWA reserves the right to waive any informality and reject any and all bids. The MVWA may reject any bid if in its judgment the resources, financial standing, or experience of the bidder justifies such rejection in view of the work to be performed. The Board reserves the right to revise or amend the bidding documents prior to the date set for opening the bids.

Packages containing bids must be sealed, marked, and addressed to the Mohawk Valley Water Authority, Engineering Department, Attention: Jolie Murray, 1 Kennedy Plaza, 3rd Floor, City Hall, Utica, New York 13502. Packages containing bids that are delivered by courier (i.e., FedEx, UPS, etc.) must be delivered to the Water Authority’s Engineering Department, 3rd Floor Office.

Any inquiries regarding details in specifications must be submitted in writing to Dan Faldzinski, Principal Engineer, of the MVWA, 3rd Floor, City Hall, Utica, New York 13502. The subject heading for all emails shall be MVWA Gilbert Road Tank Removal Project. No responses will be given to questions received less than four calendar days prior to the bid opening date.
