Monday, April 21, 2008:
The Mohawk Valley Water Authority (MVWA) will shut down a 16” water main
along State Route 291 at the
Areas affected:
Ø
Ø
Sunset Manor
Subdivision off
Residents of the areas
listed above will be with water, however, it will be a lesser flow and pressure
rate. This diminished flow and
pressure shall be for no longer than five (5) hours.
Once the abandonment has
been completed and the newly constructed water main activated, residents in the
affected areas may notice cloudy or discolored water when they use their water
service. Residents should
NOT use the hot water faucet
until the cold water faucet runs clear, since such usage will draw sediment into
the hot water tank. Residents should
also avoid washing their clothes in discolored water as it may contain sediments
that could permanently stain their laundry.
Customers are advised to
store water for cooking and consumption before 8:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 23,
2008. Once the water main is
activated, the MVWA will flush discolored water from the water main.
There will not be a boil
water advisory due to this construction effort.
The water supply will not be contaminated and safe water pressures will
be maintained.
Questions concerning this
notice may be directed to the Water Authority at 792-0301.
