MVWA to Replace Two
Water Valves in
Tuesday, June 26, 2007, 10:00 AM: The Mohawk Valley Water Authority (MVWA) will shut
down the water supply for segments of streets in
Residents of these streets will be without water.
They will also notice discolored water once repairs are made. Residents are
advised NOT to drink or prepare food with the discolored water and NOT
to use the hot water because this could pull sediment into the hot water heater.

Because of the long time period involved with this
work, the MVWA advises that customers living in the area to be shut down to boil
any water before consuming it until laboratory testing verifies that the
water is safe for consumption. Boiling should be rigorous for a minimum of two
full minutes. Information about the water lab test results can be obtained by
calling 792-0301 after 12:00 PM, on July 5th. In lieu of boiling
water, customers are advised to store water for cooking and consumption before
8:00 AM on July 2nd.
After the water mains are refilled, the Water
Authority will clear discolored water from the water mains.
