August 28, 2012, 10:00 AM The BOIL WATER ADVISORY for New Hartford has been Lifted.

August 26, 2012, 9:00 AM  Mohawk Valley Water Authority maintenance crews are working to repair a water main break which occurred on Oxford Road in Town of New Hartford. As a result of this main break, customers in the following area are under a BOIL WATER ADVISORY:

                       Oxford Road from Hoffman Road southerly to 3800 Oxford Road, including

                        Mallard Brook Lane

                        Woodberry Road   from Oxford Road to 12 Woodberry Road

                        Library Lane

                        Beechwood Road

                        Wills Drive

                        Center Terrace

                        Janet Terrace

                        Humphry Terrace

                        Kellogg Road   between Oxford Road and Tibbitts Road

                        Tibbitts Road  from Kellogg Road to westerly end of Jubilee Lane

                        Jubilee Lane

                        Imperial Drive

                        Regency Road

                        Court Knoll

                        Regal Court

                        Snowden Hill Road  from Oxford Road westerly to 3884 Snowden Hill

                        Twyndom Terrace

                        Hughes Lane  houses 9 and 11

Following the restoration of service, a Boil Water Advisory will be in effect in the affected area for 48 hours, or until tests show the water is free from contamination. During this time, customers are advised to boil their water for at least two minutes before using it for drinking or cooking.

Customers are also advised against using any water that appears cloudy or discolored, especially hot water, since such usage will draw the water into the hot water tank, and customers will have to flush the tank once clear water becomes available. Customers should also avoid washing their clothes in discolored water, since it may contain sediments that could permanently stain their laundry
